Rochester, Minnesota

We are Lay Carmelites living in the world. Through baptism, we share in the mission of Christ continued through the Catholic Church. We undertake in all our walks of life to assimilate the Gospel through faith and proclaim it by works.

We Lay Carmelites in Rochester, Minnesota belong to Christ and seek through His grace to transform the world by dedication to tasks of the world.

We are called to live in the presence of the living and true God who in Christ has come among us.

We live an intense life of prayer, focused on a personal dialogue with the Lord. As Saint Teresa of Jesus says: "Prayer ...is nothing more than an intimate and frequent dialogue of friendship with the one we know loves us." Pope Saint John Paul II confirms that in Carmel: prayer becomes life and life flourishes in prayer.

Our Sacramental life is centered on the Eucharist, each day is filled with the Liturgy of the Hours. We honor Our Lady's Brown Scapular and cultivate our prayer in Scripture through Lectio Divina...
